Welcome to Towhee
A sense of adventure and belonging awaits
Towhee is an innovative, therapeutic overnight summer program for children and youth with learning disabilities and mental health issues (LDMH). Through adventure and arts-based programming, we support the social, physical and emotional development of participants, helping them build confidence, self-esteem and positive coping skills.
Summer 2024 Applications are OPEN!
We are now accepting New Camper Applications for summer 2024.
If you are new to Towhee & CDI, and are interested, please contact our main intake at 416-603-1827 ext. 2254 to confirm your eligibility. Please do NOT complete any forms if you have not first spoken with Harry Wenban (Towhee Director) to determine if Towhee is right for your child.
All potential participants will meet in person with a director or designate and participate in a group meeting with other potential participants to determine if Towhee is the right fit this summer.
*Note: Camp Towhee has specific eligibility criteria. All children/youth must have a diagnosed learning disability, demonstrated by a psychological assessment, and be deemed a good fit for the Towhee program.
Our son looked forward to being at Towhee all year. Towhee brings out the best in him. He is more sociable in school this year, and Towhee helped set him up for that. The arts and athletic opportunities gave him achievements to look back on. Socially and personally Towhee helped him grow. Towhee has been a highlight of his teen years. Thanks so much.
I no longer spend hours despairing that my son will never function in the world. I now believe his future is much brighter. Thank you for all the miracles you work.
Towhee enabled a huge step forward in self reliance and my son’s ability to take responsibility for himself and his school work.
