Dear CDI Community,
On behalf of the CDI Board of Directors, I am writing to inform you that the Board has received a notice of resignation from Andrew Reddin, Chief Executive Officer. The Board thanks Andrew for his leadership and contributions to the organization’s success as he pursues the next chapter of his career. His last day with CDI will be May 15, 2026.
To ensure a smooth transition to our next CEO, the Board has appointed Micaela Joaquim Acting CEO. Micaela currently serves as CDI’s Chief Operating Officer and brings deep operational knowledge and strong continuity to the role. Micaela will assume this role following Andrew’s departure and during the period leading up to the arrival of a new CEO. She will be joined by the very capable Senior Leadership Team and well supported by the Board of Directors in managing this important transition.
Since 2023, Andrew has led through a period of growth, consolidation, and operational excellence. Key achievements include more than doubling the annual number of children and youth served by CDI; the development and launch of a five-year (2024-29) Strategic Plan that commits CDI to improving early learning and mental health outcomes for 50,000 children and youth (an ambitious goal that remains on track and likely to be exceeded); a meaningful shift toward greater organizational cohesion and operational excellence; and the development and implementation of a multi-year IDEA (Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility) Action Plan to make measurable progress towards CDI’s IDEA commitments.
This remarkable growth in reach and impact is a true testament to the tremendous passion and dedication of CDI’s staff, Board, funders, donors and community partners. Through your unwavering commitment to our mission, CDI has achieved increasingly stronger outcomes for children, youth and families, building on our reputation for outstanding service in child and youth mental health, learning disabilities, early learning and childcare, and family violence.
To continue advancing CDI’s mission and impact, our Board of Directors is pursuing a rapid timeline to find the best qualified candidate to succeed Andrew as our next CEO. We have already engaged an executive search firm to support the board through the transition and recruitment of our next CEO. We appreciate your trust, patience and support as we search for a new executive leader.
Please know that the Board remains fully committed to the wellbeing of staff, children and families who are at the centre of a robust and vibrant CDI.
Warm regards,
Wendy Miller
CDI Board Chair
