“The Canada Post Community Foundation aims to help community groups make a difference in the lives of children in communities across Canada”

As the SNAP National Expansion Campaign scales up, Child Development Institute is delighted to partner with Canada Post Community Foundation in bringing SNAP to two high-needs neighbourhoods in Toronto. Since September 2015, the foundation’s support has enabled us to train staff at Boys and Girls Clubs in West and East Scarborough to teach SNAP to high-risk children and their families in a community-based setting.
“SNAP has been a fantastic addition to our programs. Providing children and parents with the tools needed to defuse difficult situations not only benefits the families we serve, but ensures we can continue to welcome participants we might otherwise have to turn away,” says Joshua Hood, Divisional Coordinator, Boys & Girls Club of West Scarborough.
Through funds raised via Canada Post’s annual in-store campaign, employee events and special stamp sales, Canada Post Community Foundation is able to support organizations that make a positive impact in the lives of children across the country. “We are proud of our employees and retirees who have devoted many hours to raising awareness and funds,” says Deepak Chopra, President and CEO, Canada Post.
The SNAP National Expansion Campaign is fortunate to have this important foundation join us in our goal to help 20,000 children learn how to Stop Now And Plan. On behalf of the entire team at CDI, we thank the Canada Post Community Foundation for ensuring that as many children as possible will have access to SNAP in their home community.
